Growing note
Fussier in pots than marigold or hibiscus, especially through India's humid monsoon and summer, when black spot and powdery mildew show up fast on damp foliage. Water the soil in the morning rather than the leaves in the evening, and give it a large pot (14-16 inches) plus monthly feeding for repeat blooms. Non-toxic to cats and dogs, though the thorns are their own hazard.
